This unique Christmas Plaque is great fun to make, and you'll be surprised to learn it's made completely out of glass powder using a 'freeze n' fuse' technique. Each part of the piece is created by carefully adding glass powder to a silicon mould, taking lots of time to get the colours and small details in. I'll then slowly add water to the mould so that the powder is soaked, and put the whole thing into the freezer for a few hours. 

When it's completely frozen the piece is quickly removed from the mould and placed into a kiln and heated to 690 degrees centigrade. When the kiln has cooled,  all the pieces are then  positioned in place for the final design where it is then fused into the item you can see in the pictures. It's a technique that takes a long time and a steady hand, but I think the finished item is well worth the effort.
