The inspiration to make this colourful freestanding fused glass clock came from a trip we made to New York. I was looking out of our hotel window across the skyline of New York and was fascinated by the pattern that was made by all the buildings I could see. I was particularly struck by how the differing heights of those buildings gave such a dramatic atmosphere, especially in the early mornings at dawn as the sun began to rise. This piece is made by fusing two 3mm pieces of glass together and aligning stringers (thin spaghetti type lengths of glass) of varying lengths and colours to create this lovely clock.

It is presented in a wooden base stand and is approx 32cm tall (including base stand), 14cm wide and 8cm deep (including the base stand - the glass itself is 6mm thick).
