This lovely clock has a blue border outlining squares of beautiful, shimmering iridised glass. Iridized glass is “normal” glass that has a thin, metallic coating on the surface which adds a shine and a sparkle. It is created by cutting the 9 identical squares of glass and the variation in the colours on the clock is simply where on the sheet of glass the squares are cut and the orientation in which they are laid down on a base glass. The squares are then outlined with a blue glass border and fused to a temperature of 804 degrees c. This clock has gold coloured hour, minute and second hands and is approximately 21cm X 21cm (23.5cm high when mounted in the stand) It is presented in an oak stand measuring 15cm X 7cm X 2cm (included) and requires 1x AA battery (supplied).
Inspiration: I just love iridized glass. It shimmers all different colours and the blues and purple and bronze of this piece all blend beautifully together. When out walking recently, I looked across the fields and was struck by how the sun brought patches of light, shade and colour and a shimmer across the countryside.
